Hunting capercaillie and black grouse in the Kurgan region / Russia

There are two hunting grounds, Zapoloyskoe and Chimeyevskoe, available for hunting capercaillie and black grouse.
The Zapoloyskoe hunting area is located in the southern part of the Belozersky district in the Kurgan region. Accessibility by road is 10 km north of Kurgan on the M-51-Kurgan-Tyumen road. One third of the area is occupied by a section of the Iletsko-Ikovsky marsh, which is covered with pine forests and secondary birch-ash forests. The rest of the area is a part of the northern forest-step zone. The total area is 251 square kilometres (25.1 thousand hectares).
The second hunting ground Chimeyevskoye is located in the north-western part of the Belozersk district, 60 km north of the city of Kurgan, on road 51 Kurgan-Tyumen. The northern part of the site is part of the Borovlyanskiy pine forest. The central as well as the southern part also belong to the forest-step zone. Several streams and rivers rise in the centre of the hunting ground. The total area of the territory is 452.4 km² (45.24 thousand hectares).
More than 30 years ago, the hunting grounds Chimeyevskoye and Zapolojskoye were established as hunting farms. In these two hunting grounds, great attention is paid to the establishment and management of the game populations. Because of these measures, the number of elk, roe deer, wild boar, capercaillie and black grouse are numerous.
Last year, about 200 foreign hunters were welcomed, all of whom shot suitable capercaillies and black grouse.
